Staying in Ubud rather than driving up from the south frees roughly two hours — enough to add the northern temples or a Sidemen side trip to the same ten-hour day.

Three hours in the car changes the answer
For two to four people doing the full round trip from the south, most guests say the captain's chairs are worth it — you are in the vehicle for three hours or more of the day.
Hiace Premio
Six or more
Groups beyond five either split into two cars or move up to the Hiace, arranged on the same booking. Luggage is usually what decides it.
One honest note carried from this page since it was written: there are no stretch limousines operating in Bali. The Alphard class plays that role here, and we would rather say so than advertise a fleet that does not exist.
