In short
Uluwatu punishes casual transport plans more than any other corner of Bali. The attractions sit at the ends of steep single-lane roads with almost no parking, ride-hailing thins out past Pecatu, and the Kecak empties thousands of people into one car park at the same minute every evening. A day chauffeur solves all three at once.

Nothing on this list is more than an hour away, and a Bukit day still fills ten hours. That is the whole point about this peninsula: the distances are trivial and the access is not.
